An Indian Army vehicle was attacked in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. The separatists attacked an army vehicle at Akhnur in the valley. No casualties were immediately claimed. After the attack, the Indian Army launched a search operation in the area. Indian media NDTV reported this information in a report on Monday (October 28).

According to reports, separatists targeted an army vehicle in Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir and fired multiple rounds. Security forces are currently conducting extensive searches in the area.

According to initial reports, the separatists fled the spot after firing and security forces are now conducting a search operation.

The White Knight Corps said in a statement, “Separatists fired at a vehicle of an army convoy in the morning near Asan in Sundarbani sector. The attack attempt was foiled by the quick resistance of the troops. No injuries were reported. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway to trace the separatists.”

According to Indian media, the attack took place around 7 am on Monday. During the incident, three separatists suddenly started firing at the army vehicle in Baltal area. Immediately the army surrounded the entire area. A search is being conducted in the forest area.

It should be noted that for the past few days, tension has spread in Jammu and Kashmir due to the incidents of separatist attacks. On October 24, separatists attacked an army vehicle in Baramulla, killing two army jawans and two civilian workers.

Earlier on October 20, 6 construction workers were killed in an attack by separatists near a tunnel under construction on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Ganderbal district.

Since then, the army has started vigorous searches in various areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The 'counter-intelligence wing' of the police was called in the search operation. Searches are underway in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Badgam, Anantnag and Pulwama.

However, a total of 12 people, including two jawans, were killed in separatist attacks last week.
