Voting with a scale symbol is a religious duty, said Supreme Court lawyer Barrister ASM Shahriar Kabir. He said that it is possible to please Allah only by making this symbol victorious. He said these things in his speech as the main negotiator at the Jamaat-e-Islami election meeting at the RG-Naogaon School Grounds of Naogaon Municipality on Friday night.

Barrister Shahriar Kabir said, “If you don’t vote with a scale, what will you answer to Allah? Sheikh Mujib cannot take anyone to Paradise—only Allah Ta’ala will take him to Paradise. So, you can go to your grave and say, ‘Oh Allah, I voted with a scale for the sake of your religion.’” He also said that Allah will be pleased with the victory of the scale.

Calling votes a trust, he said, "A person who does not work for the country by taking votes is a traitor to the trust. The scales are a symbol of justice and fairness. We always support honest and fair people. The candidates nominated by Jamaat-e-Islami have participated in the elections not for the greed of power, but to work as servants of the people." At that time, he quoted the statement of the Jamaat Ameer and said that if anyone from the party betrays the trust after the vote, strict action will be taken against him - such a strong declaration is not heard from the mouth of any other party leader.

He said, "In Naogaon, those who talk about establishing the religion will be voted for. But if you vote for those who do not know how to establish the religion, you will be betraying the trust." At the same time, he highlighted the current political reality and said, "The previous BNP of Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia and the current BNP are not the same. In the future, power will not be given to smugglers, extortionists and dishonest people in Bangladesh."

Expressing his strong stance against vote theft and extortion, he said, "I will not steal votes myself, nor will I let anyone do so. If anyone comes to steal votes, we must resist them. There will be no place for extortionists in Bangladesh." He also took a stand against Indian hegemony. In his words, "Voting for those who do not speak out against injustice even though they cannot go to India to play cricket as Muslims is the biggest disobedience."

Also present at the meeting were Jamaat-Islami candidate for Naogaon-5 (Sadr) constituency ASM Sayem, District Jamaat Naib-e-Amir Professor Mohiuddin, Sadar Upazila Jamaat Amir Advocate Abdur Rahim and local and central level leaders. Earlier, Shahriar Kabir also participated in the award distribution and cultural evening organized by the Ward No. 8 Youth Department.
