Dhaka-6 MP and State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraq Hossain has warned that even though he is in government, he has not forgotten the movement and struggle of the streets and the politics of the people. He has made it clear that if the indecent statements against eminent politicians and the top leadership of the government continue, more stringent programs will be announced in the future. He made these remarks at a rally organized after a huge protest torch procession organized in the capital on Friday (July 31) night.
The State Minister said that those who are constantly making ugly and inaudible statements against Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and other top leaders should know that BNP has not forgotten politics or the struggle for self-respect. If anyone wants to steal the character of others or curtail democratic rights in the name of independence, it will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He commented that even though he is in government, they remember the old history of the streets of protecting democratic rights and fighting against injustice.
Welcoming the new party of youth in politics, Ishraq Hossain alleged that although many members of the new party have cordial relations with the BNP in parliament, one or two dishonest people have entered inside. These people are basically trying to implement the agenda of the ousted dictatorial party and murderer Hasina by destroying the political environment. He warned that if this good relationship between political parties is destroyed, only the defeated evil forces will get the opportunity.
At the conclusion of the rally, he told the workers that the Prime Minister has clearly instructed that even if the government changes, the BNP will never back down from the politics of the streets and the people. It is worth noting that the huge torch procession that started from Malitola Park in Dhaka-6 constituency in protest against the indecent remarks circled the main roads of the capital and ended in Nayapaltan, where top leaders of BNP and its affiliates were present.
