BNP is making defeated leaders the heads of the districts: Rumin Farhana

Brahmanbaria-2 MP Rumin Farhana has strongly criticized and questioned the government's recent decision to appoint 'partisan' District Commissioners (DCs). She made these comments while participating in a private television talk show about the appointment of various important posts in the administration based on political considerations.
In the talk show, Rumin Farhana said that despite the favorable atmosphere for BNP in the last elections, those who were defeated by the party's candidates, that is, those for whom the people did not vote, are now being given the responsibility of district administrators. She called it inappropriate to appoint unpopular and defeated people to the main responsibility of the district without considering their qualifications and popularity.
She further alleged that not qualifications but only political positions have now become the main criteria for taking up key positions. She reminded that the mass uprising began by protesting against such irregularities and discrimination. Expressing his anger over other high-ranking appointments in the government, he said that a sweater factory owner without any experience has been appointed as the governor of Bangladesh Bank, which is worrying for the country.
He commented that this tendency to appoint those who have been rejected by the people or who have not even received party nominations to policy-making positions in the administration is sending a negative message to the country's governance system.
