A press conference was held in Panchagarh to protest the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to distort the image of State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain and spread it on a Facebook page called 'Shibir Media Cell'. The press conference was organized by the joint initiative of Panchagarh district and municipal BNP, including all its organs and associate organizations, on Tuesday night.

Former organizing secretary of district Chhatra Dal and municipal BNP leader Abdullah Alam Mamun Ronik read a written statement at the press conference. Municipal BNP member and former GP advocate Abdul Bari of Panchagarh Judge Court and district BNP member Yunus Sheikh also spoke at the press conference. District Jubo Dal president Ferdous Wahid Russell, general secretary Nuruzzaman Babu, district Chhatra Dal general secretary Roknuzzaman Japan and Swechchhasebak Dal convener Anwar Hossain Taposh and other leaders were present at the press conference.

The speakers alleged that State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain is gaining the trust and popularity of the people through his constructive activities. A vested interest group is jealous of his political success and is trying to tarnish his reputation. In continuation of this, the 'Shibir Media Cell' Facebook page is being used to distort the image of the State Minister with AI technology and spread propaganda.

The leaders of the organization strongly condemned and protested this heinous conspiracy and demanded that those involved be identified immediately and brought under exemplary punishment. Otherwise, they warned of announcing strict programs later, subject to party discussions. After the press conference, the leaders and activists took out a procession from the Panchagarh Press Club area and held a short protest meeting at Chowringhee intersection.
