Bangladesh women's team leveled the series by beating West Indies in the second ODI. As a result, Nigar Sultana's team still has a chance of directly qualifying for the 2025 ODI World Cup.

If Bangladesh wins the last match of the three-match series on Friday night, Bangladesh time, they will get a World Cup ticket and push New Zealand into the qualifiers.

In the match held at Warner Park in St. Kitts, Bangladesh defeated West Indies by 60 runs. Batting first, Bangladesh was all out for 184 runs in 48.5 overs. With this run, Bangladesh bowled out West Indies for 124 runs in 35 overs.

Left-arm spinner Nahida Akhtar took 3 wickets for 30 runs, while two leg spinners Rabeya Khan and Fahima Khatun and pacer Marufa Akhtar took 2 wickets each.

Captain Nigar Sultana top-scored for Bangladesh with 68 runs. She hit 5 fours in her 120-ball innings and played a key role in helping the team reach 184.

The next ODI World Cup will be held in India in August-September, where the top 6 teams in the Women's Championship, including hosts India, will get a direct entry.

Bangladesh now have 21 points from 23 matches. New Zealand, which has played all 24 matches, also has 21 points, but the Kiwis are ahead on net run rate. If Bangladesh win the last match, they will overtake New Zealand and qualify directly for the World Cup.

However, if they lose the last match, Bangladesh will get a chance in the qualifiers, where two teams will play against Pakistan, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, and Thailand to qualify for the World Cup.
