Chief Prosecutor hopes to complete all investigations into July massacres within a year

International Crimes Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Md. Aminul Islam has promised to complete all investigations within the next one year, giving top priority to the cases of crimes against humanity committed during the July-August 2024 mass uprising. At the same time, he assured of completing the trial process quickly.
He made these remarks at a press conference organized at the press conference room of the tribunal's own office on Thursday (July 23) afternoon.
The Chief Prosecutor said that every case filed in the July-August incident involving martyrs, injured and maimed people is being viewed seriously. A fair investigation will be completed within the stipulated time and the accused will be brought to justice. The prosecution is careful to completely avoid political or external influence to keep the investigation impartial.
Jamaat alliance submits memorandum
Meanwhile, a delegation of the 11-party alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami submitted a memorandum to the Chief Prosecutor of the tribunal on the same day, demanding the speedy completion of the judicial proceedings in the July genocide.
Chief Prosecutor Md. Aminul Islam received the memorandum and outlined the current progress of the case and assured them of a fair and speedy trial of all the crimes of the 24th mass uprising.
