A new discussion has arisen around a post made on social media by Salahuddin Ammar, General Secretary of Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RAKSU). He commented that only the young leaders who led the mass uprising in Nepal were able to form the government because there is no ‘brother quorum’ like the University of Dhaka.

He made this comment in a post on his verified Facebook ID around 11 pm on Friday (March 6). In the post, he told DU students that many might agree with his words. According to his comment, after July, unnecessary debates and divisions have been created on the issues of who sheltered whom, who helped whom or bought mobile phones.

Salahuddin Ammar also said that at that time he was involved in various movements on campus. He also mentioned the ongoing movement demanding the abolition of the pet quota in particular. He alleged that many national-level leaders were busy with other issues at that time, so there was no opportunity to raise their voices strongly in favor of that demand from Dhaka University.

In the post, he further claimed that after July, big-budget cultural events were held in various places in Dhaka. However, he tried to contact the leaders concerned for a long time with a proposal for a program at Rajshahi University, but did not get much response. He also mentioned that he felt neglected.

In this context, he regretted that perhaps his only 'mistake' was that he did not get the opportunity to get admitted to Dhaka University. At the same time, he complained that at that time many people were evaluated on the basis of their fan-followers on social media, not on the basis of their qualifications or contributions.

At the end of the post, Raksur GS wished the young leadership of Nepal well and said that whatever political party the leaders of the uprising form in the future, it will be an important organization for him. However, he blames the past for the current situation when people's real contributions were ignored.

His comments have been met with mixed reactions on social media, with some seeing his statement as a reflection of reality, while others see it as a controversial comment.
