July Uprising Case: Shamim Osman, 12 to be indicted on May 5

The International Crimes Tribunal has set May 5 as the date for framing charges against Shamim Osman and 12 others in the case of crimes against humanity committed in the Narayanganj killings during the July Uprising.
The judicial panel led by Tribunal-1 Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder gave the order on Thursday (April 23).
Meanwhile, the interrogation of the investigation officer in the case of Mahbub ul Alam Hanif in another case of crimes against humanity filed in Tribunal-2 on charges of conspiracy and incitement including six murders in Kushtia during the July Movement has ended. The prosecution's arguments in this case will begin on May 11.
On the other hand, the investigation officer in the case has testified against seven accused including Obaidul Quader in the July Murder case.
Legal experts say that the subsequent proceedings in these cases are being considered an important advancement in the country's judicial process.
