BNP Chairperson to contest in three seats

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will contest in the upcoming elections. She will contest from Feni-1, Dinajpur-3 and Bogra-7.
Announcement of candidates for 237 seats
After a long 16 years, BNP is participating in this election with the aim of restoring the rights of the people. Mirza Fakhrul said, "We are giving a list of potential candidates for 237 seats, and the seats where the candidates of the allied parties of the simultaneous movement will be announced, BNP will coordinate."
This initial list was approved at a meeting of the BNP Standing Committee led by the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
The appeal hearing of the caretaker government system is ongoing
During the press conference, Mirza Fakhrul also spoke about the caretaker government system. He mentioned that the appeal hearing in favor of the caretaker government system is going on for the 7th day.
Political importance and context
According to analysts, BNP's participation in the elections after a long time and especially Khaleda Zia's candidacy has created great enthusiasm among the party leaders and activists. It is believed that this can bring new momentum to the country's political arena.
On the other hand, according to Election Commission sources, the election schedule may be announced in the first week of February.

BNP Standing Committee members Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moin Khan, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Selima Rahman, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain were present at the press conference.
