Government's 180-day 'honeymoon period' over, now time for visible results: Education Minister

Education and Primary Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said that the implementation phase of the first 180 days of the priority programs after the current government took office has ended. Now it is time to deliver the tangible results of the government's various initiatives to the people.
He said that the government is working consistently to implement the promises made in the election manifesto. Several activities have already been taken to reform, modernize and improve the quality of services in various sectors, including the education sector.
Priority programs in the education sector
The Education Minister said that the government is implementing various plans to make the education system more modern, work-oriented and technology-based. These include—
‘One Teacher, One Tab’ program
Expansion of multimedia classrooms
Expansion of technical education
Third language education initiative
Teachers’ skill development training
Increasing technology facilities in educational institutions
Emphasis on implementing election pledges
The minister said that the government is giving utmost importance to implementing election pledges to fulfill the expectations of the people. Along with long-term plans, short-term programs are also being implemented to develop education, human resource development and create a skilled manpower based on technology.
Importance of creating skilled human resources
He also said that initiatives have been taken to make education not just certificate-based but practical skill-based. Emphasis is being given to language education, technology education and job-oriented training to enable students to compete internationally.
The government is working to fulfill the expectations of the people
The education minister said that the first six months of the government were the time to lay the foundation for implementing plans and programs. Now, work is underway with the aim of delivering the visible benefits of those initiatives to the people.
He urged the concerned officials and employees to perform their duties with sincerity and urged everyone to work together to successfully implement the government's development activities.
