A worker was killed and two injured in a head-on collision between a drum truck and a motorcycle at Ishwardi in Pabna.

The accident happened on Tuesday (August 27) around seven in the morning at Post Office Mor area of ​​Iswardi city.

The deceased Saiful Islam (44) is the son of Maqbul Hossain of Hajihat village, Bhabanipur Paschimpara, Lalpur Upazila, Natore. He worked as a laborer for a foreign company in Rooppur nuclear power plant project.

The injured are Rajan Hossain (22) and Asmaul Molla (47) of Ramkantpur village of Lalpur upazila. Like everyday they were going to work in Rooppur project on motorcycle.

Police and locals said,
Three people on a motorcycle were going towards Rooppur project from Lalpur direction. A motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding drum truck at the post office junction while passing through the main road of Ishwardi city around 7 am.

Motorcyclist Saiful was killed on the spot. Two seriously injured people were rescued and taken to Iswardi Upazila Health Complex. Soon they were shifted to Rajshahi Medical Hospital.

Ishwardi Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Zulhas Uddin said over the phone that immediately after the accident, they recovered the body and sent the injured to Ishwardi Hospital for treatment. However, if you receive a written complaint in this case, take legal action.
