Jhalakathi Weavers' Party to take Tarique Rahman's 31-point message to the people

The Jhalakathi District Nationalist Weavers' Party has organized a special opinion exchange meeting and organizational workshop to convey the outline of Tarique Rahman's '31-point plan to repair the state structure' to restore democracy in Bangladesh. In the meeting, a program of worker meetings and leaflet distribution was taken in each union as per the instructions of the central committee and it was decided to increase activities to renew members.
The meeting was presided over by Jhalakathi District Weavers' Party President Md. Waheduzzaman (Firoz), moderated by Adv. Md. Badsha Mia. Md. Bachchu Hasan Khan spoke as the chief guest. Md. Golam Mostafa was the main speaker and Md. Ayub Khan was the special speaker. Other leading leaders and activists of the district and upazila levels were present in the meeting.
The speakers said that there is no alternative to the 31-point agenda given by Tarique Rahman in the struggle to bring back democracy in the country and establish voting rights. This outline can be successful only if the message is delivered properly at the doorsteps of the people—this is the purpose for which this initiative of the Jhalakathi Tanti Dal has been taken.
Chief guest Md. Bachchu Hasan Khan, in his speech, called on the Trinamool workers to remain united and said, “The message of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is clear—there is no time to sit at home. Every worker of the Tanti Dal will have to hold worker meetings in every union from now on and go door to door with the message of the 31-point agenda to repair the state.” He further added that new life should be breathed into the party through member renewal so that the party can participate in any movement with a steely morale.
The meeting decided to immediately start worker meetings in every union of the district and distribute BNP’s 31-point leaflets there, strengthen member renewal activities locally, and include the opinions of the common people in the organization’s activities through mass outreach. The leaders and activists of the Tanti Dal expressed their hope that the lost democracy can be restored through this Grassroots program.
The leaders present at the meeting included Md. Monir Hossain Howlader, Md. Golam Rabbani, Md. Shah Alam, Md. Monir Hossain Montu, Md. Touhidul Islam, Md. Jalal Uddin Shahin, Md. Liton Khan, Md. Masud Khan, Md. Firoz Molla and Md. Mizanur Rahman. All of them individually and collectively pledged to strengthen the organization and play a role in establishing people's rights based on public representation.
The leaders and activists of the Tanti Dal believe that it will be easier to ensure the success of the 31-point agenda if they organize at the local level and increase direct contact with the people. They also said that the message will be spread quickly among the people, not just through leaflet distribution, but through continuous public relations among the workers and public interest-based programs.
According to the decision taken from the meeting, the Jhalokati District Weavers' Party is hopeful that in the coming days, union-based programs and member renewal activities will activate and energize the political context of the district and the Weavers' Party will always play a leading role in the larger democratic movement.
