Imam-Ulama Parishad demands cancellation of the concert
After the news of the Ashes band's concert was published, the Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila Imam-Ulama Parishad objected.
The leaders of the council claimed that the arrangement of music and music at the concert was against Islamic Sharia. For this reason, they appealed to the administration to cancel the event.
The leaders of the Imam-Ulama Parishad also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj demanding the cancellation of the concert.
Memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner
The memorandum states that on August 19, 2026, a music and concert was organized at the Kishoreganj Old Stadium. The Imams and Ulama claimed that there was a risk of activities against Islamic Shariah being carried out in this.
They also said that in the past, initiatives were taken to organize such events in various fields of Kishoreganj with the permission of the administration. However, due to opposition from local religious people and Ulama-e-Keram, those events could not be held.
The memorandum expressed fears that if the concert is organized this time too, anger and dissatisfaction may arise among the religious people.
Copies of the memorandum have also been sent to the relevant offices
The leaders of the Imam-Ulama Parishad made a special request to the Deputy Commissioner to take necessary measures to stop the concert organized at the Kishoreganj Old Stadium.
They said that a copy of the memorandum has also been given to the Kishoreganj Superintendent of Police, the concerned officials of the district administration and other responsible departments.
After this application and objection, the local administration decided to postpone the Ashes band's concert to maintain the law and order situation.
