"Doctors face four times more harassment than other professions," they said at a roundtable on 'Safe Workplace for Doctors: Crisis and Action' organized by the National Doctors Forum (NDF) at the National Press Club on Saturday (September 21) afternoon. They claim that 67 percent of doctors around the world are victims of some kind of torture. In this situation, the doctors demanded to ensure the safety of the doctors in the medical field.

At the beginning of the event, Dhaka Medical College cancer specialist Dr. Nazirum Mubin. He said that around 62-67 percent of doctors worldwide have been victims of some form of torture.

Ibn Sina Medical College Professor of Radiology and Imaging Department. Habiba Chowdhury said that people of all professions are oppressed in the country. Those who torture are some of us. For this, it is necessary to fix the moral character.

He pointed out that women doctors are looked down upon in the workplace and said that now the majority of doctors in the country are women, which is about 70 percent. A large proportion of those who survive are women. But women are looked down upon. Our women doctors are not far behind.

Speakers in the event said that doctors come forward to serve more people than other professions. They should be given importance. Security must be provided.

They are risking their lives every day to serve the patients. In this situation, it is very important to create a safe and respectful workplace for doctors.

NDF Publicity Secretary Dr. Al Qays presented videos about attacks on doctors in various hospitals abroad including Cox's Bazar Medical College.

Legal Affairs Secretary Dr. Abdul Qadir Noman shares the experience of doctors in emergency department, CCU and ICU and talks about the bed limitation in the country's hospitals and the lack of safety at work for doctors.

In addition, prominent psychiatrist Dr. Asaduzzaman Kabul discusses the stress and psychological impact on physicians in the workplace and highlights how these issues negatively impact physicians' mental health.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) pediatrician Dr. Atiyar Rahman said, referring to the security challenges of the doctors, he mentioned the various steps taken.

Prominent doctor and social worker Dr. Md. Tofazzal Hossain discusses various ways to overcome the crisis of trust of patients in doctors and how to improve doctor-patient relationship.
