Preparations have been completed to field candidates for 300 seats in the upcoming national parliament election: Professor Mia Golam Parwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has completed preparations to field candidates for 300 seats in the upcoming national parliament election. However, if there is an agreement to unite with like-minded Islamic parties, it may give up some seats, which may be up to 100 seats.

Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar gave this information as the chief guest at the members' reunion (1977-2025) organized by the Khulna Metropolitan Branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir at the Al Farooq Society Auditorium in Khulna on Friday (October 3).

Golam Parwar said, "Preparations have been made for the election for all 300 seats. However, efforts are being made to reach an agreement with like-minded parties. If there is unity, some seats will have to be given up. In that case, 100 seats may also have to be given up. However, we will hold elections for at least 200 seats."

He further said, “This is the most appropriate time to send Deen to the parliament. All those who were once associated with student politics should become active again and play a role for the country. Every Jamaat worker should enter the electoral field and work with full strength.”

The program was conducted by Khulna Metropolitan Chhatrashibir Secretary Rakib Hossain and was presided over by Metropolitan President Arafat Hossain Milon. Special guests were Jamaat-e-Islami Khulna Region Assistant Director Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Metropolitan Ameer Professor Mahfuzur Rahman, Khulna District Ameer Maulana Emran Hossain, Metropolitan Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Nojibur Rahman, Metropolitan Secretary Adv. Sheikh Jahangir Hussain Helal and other senior leaders.
