The government will buy 30 thousand tons of granular urea fertilizer

The government will buy 30,000 tons of bulk granular urea fertilizer in the current fiscal year 2023-24 in the eighth lot through the state contract.
The Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement meeting approved the proposal on Tuesday (May 21). At the end of the meeting, the Secretary of Coordination and Reform of the Cabinet Department. Mahmudul Hossain Khan gave this information.
He said, a proposal of the Ministry of Industry was to import 30 thousand tons of bulk granular urea fertilizer from the United Arab Emirates through a state contract. This proposal is accepted. Its purchase price is 95 crore 70 lakh 37 thousand 500 taka. Price per ton is USD 271.50. Its previous price was 284.17 USD. The recommended bidder is Fertiglobe Distribution Limited of the United Arab Emirates. Its implementing agency is Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC).
