Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday said that if state-sponsored terrorism continues on the border, steps will be taken to wipe Pakistan off the map. He made these comments while talking about the ‘Operation Sindoor’ being conducted in the country and said that India showed restraint in the first phase of the operation; but now there will be no more restraint.

The Army Chief said, “In Operation Sindoor 1.0, we showed restraint. But this time we will not show any more restraint. This time we will put Pakistan in such a situation that they will think. If Pakistan wants to keep their place in the geography (map), then they must stop state-sponsored terrorism on the border.” He also claimed that incidents like attacks on terrorist camps inside Pakistan and attacks on Pakistan-controlled Kashmir in May have occurred and Indian attacks on these infrastructures prove that Pakistan is nurturing terrorism in its own country.

On the other hand, the Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, claimed that several Pakistani Air Force fighter jets — including F-16 and JF-17 models — were destroyed during Operation Sindoor. He said that it was Pakistan that requested a ceasefire to stop the conflict and that this proved that the peace-seeking request came from Islamabad itself and not due to any pressure from the US.

AP Singh also said that he described the Pakistani side's claim that any Indian fighter jet was destroyed as "false propaganda" and said that Pakistan was misleading the people by making such claims. He confirmed that in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Air Force and the army carried out precision strikes on a total of 9 terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir and India hit targets about 300 km away, as a result of which Pakistan requested a ceasefire.

It is worth noting that these claims are reported in the news as statements by government figures; The report did not provide details or a response from Pakistani authorities. Verifiable independent sources and a coordinated account of the situation from both sides are still limited.
