Turkey has reached a new milestone in military technology. The country unveiled its own hypersonic ballistic missile 'Typhoon Block-4' for the first time at the international defense fair 'IDEF 2025' that began in Istanbul on Tuesday. Turkey's top defense industry company Roketsan displayed the missile. It is five times faster than sound or more and is considered Turkey's longest-range ballistic missile.

According to Roketsan, the Typhoon Block-4 weighs more than seven tons and is capable of carrying a multi-purpose warhead. This missile can accurately hit various strategic targets - such as air defense systems, military hangars, command centers and important installations. Analysts believe that this will enhance Ankara's military capabilities and also advance Turkey as a regional power.

Turkey has unveiled not only the Typhoon, but also some other cutting-edge weapons and technologies at the defense fair. These include an improved version of the submarine-launched 'Atmaka' missile, which has a range of more than 250 kilometers. It will be used under the 'Blue Homeland' policy for maritime defense. In addition, a beyond visual range air-to-air missile called Gokbora was also displayed, which has a range of about 100 nautical miles. It can be launched from both fighter jets and drone platforms.

In addition, Roketsan also displayed a high-speed loitering weapon called 'Eren' at the fair. It can be launched from UAVs, helicopters, land vehicles and naval platforms and is equipped with a range of more than 100 kilometers and advanced guidance technology.

More than 900 domestic and 400 foreign defense companies are participating in IDEF 2025, which is held at Istanbul Fair Center, Ataturk Airport, WOW Hotel and Atakoy Marina. Turkey's technological achievements at the fair are pushing it towards the center of the global defense industry.

It is noteworthy that in the Muslim world, only Iran and Pakistan have achieved the ability to produce hypersonic missiles. Now, Turkey has become the third country to join that list, opening a new horizon of military technology in the Muslim world.
