Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has said that the political situation in the country may become more complicated if the referendum verdict is not implemented. He said that one of the biggest reasons for the current political crisis is the delay in implementing the referendum verdict.

He made these remarks at a human chain organized by 11 party unity in front of the NAM building of the National Assembly on Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Tuesday. The program was organized to demand the implementation of the referendum verdict, the convening of a session of the Constitutional Reform Council, and justice for the July incident.

Golam Parwar said that legal steps need to be taken quickly to implement the verdict given by the people in the referendum. He also said that the Speaker of the National Assembly has been called upon to take initiative in this regard.

According to him, the Speaker has assured to look into the matter seriously and said that he will discuss it with the Prime Minister. He also warned that political unrest may increase if the people's opinions are ignored.

The human chain was presided over by Jamaat's Assistant Secretary General and Coordinator of the 11-Party Unity Dr. AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad. He said that if the parliament is run without meeting the people's expectations, the people will not accept it. He urged the government to consider the issues in the memorandum with importance.

The organizers informed that they will continue the movement peacefully demanding justice, reforms and implementation of the referendum verdict. Before the human chain, members of the martyr's family and leaders of the 11-Party Unity submitted a memorandum to the Speaker.

Leaders of various levels of the Jatiya Nagorik Party, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, JAGPA, AB Party and Jamaat-e-Islami were present in the program.
