A court has rejected the bail of freedom fighter's son Kazi Mousumi Akhter and District Jubo Mohila League President Nilufar Yasmin in an Anti-Terrorism Act case filed for raising the slogan 'Joy Bangla' in Panchagarh. When the Panchagarh District and Sessions Judge appeared before the court on Monday afternoon and applied for bail, the judge rejected it and ordered them to be sent to jail.

Kazi Mousumi Akhter is the son of former freedom fighter commander Kazi Mahbub Rahman of Tentulia police station. The court's public prosecutor Mirza Nazmul Islam Kajal confirmed the matter.

The case alleges that on the night of June 23, 2025, a cake was cut at the residence of former MP Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan of Panchagarh-1 constituency in Kazipara, Panchagarh, on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Awami League and slogans of 'Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu' were raised. Later, a video of the event went viral on social media.

Panchagarh Sadar Police Station SI Manik Mia filed a case as the plaintiff in this incident. The case names 47 people, including former MP Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan, his wife Kazi Mousumi, and 110 to 120 unknown people were named as accused.
