The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced a 36-day 'July Awakening' program from July 1 to August 5 to highlight the memory of the July Uprising to the new generation. The program was announced at a press conference at the party's temporary office in Bangla Motor in the capital on Monday.
NCP's southern region chief organizer and MP Hasnat Abdullah said that every day of July played an important role in the victory of the uprising. Therefore, that memory will be revived through different programs throughout the month.
The announced programs include grave visits, solidarity meetings, upazila-level marches, graffiti and wall writing, memorial football tournaments, women's gatherings, farmer programs, coffin processions, discussion meetings, remembrances, cultural events and exhibitions.
The program will begin with a grave visit at Rayerbazar slaughterhouse on July 1. The month-long event will conclude with the 'Victory Celebration' program on August 5. The 'July Rejuvenation Implementation Committee' has been formed to implement the entire program.
