Environment advisor announces zero tolerance policy against corruption

Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Syeda Rizwana Hasan has announced zero tolerance policy against corruption.
He said, exemplary legal action will be taken against any officials of the Department of Environment and Forests if they show any kind of corruption, irregularities and negligence. The forests of the country should be kept as forests and the concerned officials should be dedicated to improving the environment of the country.
The environment adviser said these things while speaking as the chief guest during the first visit to the Forest Department on Wednesday (August 14) and an exchange meeting with officials.
Ordering to take legal action against the existing irregularities in Kataban bird market of the capital, Rizwana Hasan said that the Wildlife Crime Prevention Unit of the Forest Department should conduct regular monitoring here. Legal measures should be taken to stop all types of illegal bird trade and against traders who behave cruelly to birds. He urged the students to cooperate in this work.
At this time, he called upon the concerned to determine the boundaries of the forest on a priority basis to stop encroachment on the forest.
All officials of the Department of Forests, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Additional Secretary, the Chief Conservator of Forests and the Divisional Forest Officer of the Department of Forests were present in the exchange meeting.
