75.34% ‘Yes’ and 24.66% ‘No’ Votes in Referendum

The ‘Yes’ vote is leading in the nationwide referendum, according to the latest results received so far. Based on data collected from the Election Commission, returning and assistant returning officers’ offices across various districts, and field representatives, the results available until 2:00 am show that 75.34 percent of voters cast their ballots in favor of ‘Yes’, while 24.66 percent voted ‘No’.
Partial Results from Dhaka
Out of 299 parliamentary constituencies, partial referendum results have been received from several constituencies in Dhaka:
- Dhaka-5: Results from 10 out of 151 centers show 9,462 ‘Yes’ votes and 3,160 ‘No’ votes.
- Dhaka-6: Results from 34 out of 101 centers show 30,172 ‘Yes’ votes and 14,019 ‘No’ votes.
- Dhaka-14: Results from 30 out of 174 centers show 24,685 ‘Yes’ votes and 6,707 ‘No’ votes.
- Dhaka-17: Results from 21 out of 125 centers show 16,321 ‘Yes’ votes and 4,669 ‘No’ votes.
- Dhaka-18: Results from 28 out of 219 centers show 25,808 ‘Yes’ votes and 8,251 ‘No’ votes.
Partial Results Outside Dhaka
- In Netrokona district, which has five constituencies and a total of 2,044,736 registered voters, results from 665 out of 676 polling centers show 589,283 ‘Yes’ votes and 359,747 ‘No’ votes.
- In Cumilla-1 (Daudkandi-Meghna) constituency, results from 103 out of 146 centers show 113,014 ‘Yes’ votes and 38,546 ‘No’ votes.
- In Mymensingh-7 (Trishal), ‘Yes’ received 94,605 votes, while ‘No’ received 27,497 votes.
- In Mymensingh-11 (Bhaluka), ‘Yes’ secured 51,875 votes compared to 25,401 ‘No’ votes.
- In Khagrachhari, results from 41 out of 203 centers show ‘Yes’ trailing slightly, with 30,665 votes against 31,076 ‘No’ votes.
The Election Commission stated that the process of collecting and verifying results is ongoing. The overall figures may change once the full results are compiled and officially announced.
