Wins Gold Medal by Making Robot! Tarique Rahman by Young Jihad

Young inventor Zahid Hasan Jihad from Chuadanga has made the country shine in the international arena by creating a unique example of using technology for human welfare. The robot he invented, “HexaGuard Rover (HGR)”, has won a gold medal in an international competition. After this success, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by him.
On behalf of BNP, BGMEA and Chuadanga District BNP President Mahmud Hasan Babu and a delegation from ‘Amra BNP Paribas’ visited Jihad’s village home in Paranpur, Darshana Upazila, Chuadanga on Saturday (October 11) afternoon. Members of the delegation delivered greetings and financial assistance to the young inventor on behalf of Tarique Rahman.
The delegation was led by Atiqur Rahman Rumon, convener of ‘Amra BNP Paribas’. Present with him were BNP Deputy Treasurer and Chuadanga District BNP President Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu, organization advisor Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Md. Abul Kashem, Engineer Mostafa-e-Zaman Selim, National Press Club Managing Committee members Zahidul Islam Roni, Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Shakil Ahmed, Farhad Ali Sajeeb, Shahadat Hossain and former BUET Chhatra Dal General Secretary Engineer Abu Hanif.
At that time, young innovator Zahid Hasan Jihad was accompanied by his mother Mosha. Nasima Khatun, sister Sumaiya Tasmin Ishita and members of the research team - Khwaja Mudasir Ibne Azam, Md. Swapan Ali, Mohammad Asaduzzaman Sabbir, Mohammad Sabbir Hasan, Md. Majitul Islam Sifat, Mohammad Nasim Hossain Nur and Mohammad Hasibul Hasan.
Jihad, the founder of Chuadanga Science and Robotics Club and a class 12 student of Darshana Government College, participated in the World Innovation Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2025 held in Kata Damansara, Malaysia from September 21 to 25. More than two hundred teams from around the world competed there. Jihad's "Hexaguard Rover" robot won the gold medal as the best innovation in the robotics category, which is a unique achievement for Bangladesh.
'Hexaguard Rover' is a humanitarian robot, which is capable of working as a helper for people in natural disasters, accidents and rescue operations. Jihad has not stopped his research despite various financial crises since the beginning of his invention. Everyone present believes that this support from Tarique Rahman will add new inspiration to the young inventor's future research.
Born in a middle-class family in Paranpur village of Darshana upazila of Chuadanga, Zahid Hasan Jihad has been obsessed with technology and invention since childhood. His success has been widely praised at the local and national levels.
Experts hope that this initiative of technological innovation, sponsorship of young talents, and human welfare research will open new horizons in the future of scientific practice in Bangladesh.
