On Saturday afternoon, the local residents made a human chain at the place called Khintakata on the Amtali-Kuakata highway. At the end of the human chain, a procession was held on the road. Thousands of people participated in the hour-long human chain.

It is reported that there was a fight between the two sides of BNP last Wednesday over the supply of workers for the sub-station of Power Grid in Chalabhanga village of Amtali Sadar Union. In the afternoon of this incident, upazila BNP member secretary Tuhin Mridha's elder brother Abul Halim Mridha vandalized and looted three business establishments along with upazila BNP member secretary Tuhin Mridha's elder brother Rahat Fakir, son of upazila BNP's expelled convenor Rahat Fakir, along with hundreds of leaders and workers. At that time, Abdul Halim Mridha cut Kabir Khan, Mizanur Rahman Talukdar, Abul Kalam Azad, Mucha Mia, Milan and Yusuf Sardar and seriously injured them. Locals rescued them and admitted them to Barisal Shebachim Hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment in that hospital. In this incident, Tuhin Mridha filed a case in Amtali police station accusing 26 people including chief Jalal Uddin Fakir and his son Rahat Fakir as defendants of attempted murder and looting. After hearing about this incident, the local people formed a human chain on Amtali-Kuakata highway on Saturday afternoon at Chuchikata. Thousands of people participated in the hour-long human chain. Md. Forkan Molla presided over this human bond. Hafsa, Shiuli Begum, Pasha Molla, Abu Saleh, Sohag, Hasan and Khokon Khan and others spoke.
The speakers in the human chain said that after the resignation of the fascist Sheikh Hasina on August 5 and leaving the country, hundreds of leaders and activists, including the expelled convener of Amtali Upazila BNP Jalal Uddin Fakir and his son Rahat Fakir, started a massive riot in Amtali Upazila. They were involved in various activities including vandalizing municipal offices and houses, grabbing land, looting shops, grabbing tampu stands, extortion and arson. Upazila BNP member secretary Tuhin Mridha and Jubo Dal Sinion member Samsul Haque Chowkidar and Upazila Jubo Dal joint convener Mehdi Hasan Rakib protested their activities. Jalaluddin Fakir's unethical activities were hindered by this. Later he got angry and attacked Tuhin Mridha's elder brother Abdul Halim Mridha with his son Rahat Fakir and his forces. We demand justice for Jalal Uddin Fakir and his son Rahat involved in terrorist activities.
Jalal Uddin Fakir, expelled convener of Amtali Upazila BNP, said that all the allegations against me and my son are false. False accusations are being spread in my name.
