Lion Gani Mia Babul of Sreepur Receives ‘NISCHA Special Honour Award 2026’

Lion Md. Gani Mia Babul, a proud son of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur and the Joint Secretary General of Nirapad Sarak Chai (NISCHA), has received the ‘NISCHA Special Honour Award 2026’ in recognition of his long-standing contribution to road safety and public awareness initiatives.
The award was handed over to him by NISCHA Founder Chairman and renowned actor Ilias Kanchan at the organization’s 11th Grand Assembly, held on Friday (August 7) at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka.
The event was chaired by NISCHA Acting Chairman Mirajul Moin Joy, while Secretary General Liton Ershad moderated the programme. Central, district, and upazila-level leaders, lifetime members, and advisers of the organization were present at the event.
A resident of Tepir Bari village in Sreepur, Lion Gani Mia Babul has been actively involved with Nirapad Sarak Chai since 1998 and has served in various important positions within the organization. Currently, he is serving as the Joint Secretary General of NISCHA.
Over the years, he has played a significant role in preventing road accidents, creating public awareness about safe roads, and promoting road safety through regular articles and columns in the media.
Besides his road safety activities, Lion Gani Mia Babul has also been actively involved in social welfare and cultural initiatives. He has received several national and international recognitions for his contributions in different fields.
His achievement has created joy among the people of Sreepur and Gazipur. Leaders of various social, cultural, and journalist organizations have congratulated him on receiving the prestigious honour.
