Amtali Upazila BNP Member Secretary Tuhin Mridha's elder brother Abdul Halim Mridha and 6 others were hacked and seriously injured, the expelled convener of Amtali Upazila BNP Jalal Uddin Fakir and his son Ratat Fakir have been put in human custody for trial. Ihtashimul Haque Tesham (17), a disabled school student, died in a fire on August 5 after fighting with death for 27 days. He died while undergoing treatment at the burn and plastic surgery department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Sunday. On Monday morning, the student's body was buried at the family grave site on Sikdar Road, Ward No. 1 of Amtali Municipality.

School teacher Nazrul Islam committed suicide by hanging himself with a mango tree after writing a note saying "I could not bear the torture of my wife". The incident took place in Haridrabaria village of Amtali upazila on Saturday morning. Nazrul Islam was an assistant teacher of North Tiakhali Chobahan Biswas Secondary School in Amtali Sadar Union.

In Amtali, brick and stone were not touched in the village.
