Teaching is going on with one teacher

In Chilmari of Kurigram, two government primary schools are teaching all classes of students with only one teacher.
In this, the teaching activities of Dakshin Natarkandi Government Primary School and Mantola Government Primary School in Durgam Char area of Ashtami Char Union of Upazila are being severely disrupted. The concerned authorities have not taken any action despite the poor condition of the two institutions for a long time.
It is known that Dakshin Notarkandi Government Primary School of Ashtamirchar Union and Mantola Government Primary School of Chilmari Union have 6 and 5 teacher posts respectively. There were 5 teachers against 6 posts in South Natarkandi Government Primary School. Out of which 1 teacher left the job and alternately the head teacher and two assistant teachers (Safiqul Islam and Shahadat Hossain) were transferred and one assistant teacher named Rozina Khatun remained working. He taught 128 students from class 1 to class 5.

On the other hand, 1 out of 5 teachers left the job in Mantola Government Primary School of Chilmari Union, one went to CNAD for training and Md. When two teachers including Ziaul Islam were transferred, the head teacher Upendra Nath Das remained working. He alone continues to teach 57 students in all classes.
According to the attendance records of the two schools, the total number of students in South Natarkandi Government Primary School is 128 and the total number of students in Mantola Government Primary School is 57.
On Wednesday, the number of students present in all the classes of South Natarkandi School was 22 and Mantola Government Primary School saw a total of 30 students.
Dakshin Natarkandi Government Primary School Assistant Teacher Deleted. Rozina Khatun is currently serving as Assistant Teacher and Head Teacher alone. He said that from opening and closing all the doors and windows of the school to teaching the students, he does all the work alone. He said that due to the shortage of teachers in the school, parents are admitting their children to neighboring madrasas. He said that the school's nearest teacher has been asked to the office for attachment.
Upendra Nath Das, head teacher of Mantola Primary School, said, "What else can teachers do if they don't provide teachers?" It is very difficult. I would request the concerned authorities to give the teachers as soon as possible, otherwise the reading of the students will be disturbed.
Upazila Primary Assistant Education Officer (ATO) Md. Zakir Hossain said that a proposal has been sent to the district primary education office for teacher attachment in two schools. Fast teacher attachment will be given.
Acting Upazila Education Officer (TO) Md. Zahidul Islam said that in the current year, if the teachers of those two schools applied for transfer, the transfer was ordered subject to replacement. As a result, 4 teachers of those two schools could not be transferred. When a circular was issued suddenly waiving the condition of replacement, they moved elsewhere. In this, the teaching activities of both the schools started to be disrupted. Proposal sent, teacher attachment will be given there very soon.
In this regard, Chilmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Minhajul Islam said that the matter will be discussed with the primary education officer and necessary measures will be taken.
