Father of banned Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain passes away

Father of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain, freedom fighter Md. Aminul Haque (80) passed away due to old age at his residence in Boda upazila of Panchagarh district on Friday night (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun). He had been suffering from various old age-related diseases for a long time.
Freedom fighter Aminul Haque served as the former president of Boda upazila Chhatra League and Jubo League. He was a respected fighter of the Liberation War and an active leader of local Awami politics.
His eldest son Saddam Hossain was recently serving as the central president of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League. The government banned Chhatra League on charges of involvement in political violence by student organizations, which created a big stir in the country's political arena.
The funeral of the deceased will be held at 5 pm on Friday at the authentic family graveyard adjacent to the 11 Mile Eye Hospital in Boda Upazila.
It is worth noting that on August 5, 2024 and April 15, 2025, there were two consecutive attacks on Saddam Hossain's family, which included arson and vandalism. Aminul Haque and other family members spent time in a state of panic during these attacks.
Aminul Haque's death has cast a shadow of grief in the local political, social and cultural circles. Various political parties and organizations prayed for the forgiveness of his soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
