The artists of Pabna's cultural arena collected money for the flood victims by singing timeless songs such as 'Manush Manaman, Jeevan Jeevan', and sometimes 'Dhano Dhanye Pushpe Bhra, Maare Ei Bashundhara'.
For two days on Monday and Tuesday, they performed songs and collected money at different places in the city.
Music artists reached out to help the flood victims by singing songs at various places including Cultural Square, Latif Tower, AR Corner, AR Plaza, Haque Super Market, Shah Alam Market, Rayer Bazaar, Al Aqsa Market. At this time, teachers and students, working people, businessmen and people from all walks of life came forward in response to the call of the musicians.
Singers Suman Sarkar, Pavel Wahid, Raviraj, Sujan Bairagi, Atwin band director Mahbubul Islam Liton, dramatist Gautam Kumar, general secretary of Sonar Bangla Ma Academy Suman Ali, Johan, Janam and other artists performed music on this occasion.
Sumon Ali, general secretary of Sonar Bangla Ma Academy, said, 'Flood victims are in endless trouble. This initiative is to stand by them. The money collected will be given to buy essential items among the flood affected people through a responsible and trustworthy organization.
