The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal distributed iftar items among floating people, pedestrians, underprivileged and destitute individuals in Savar during the holy month of Ramadan. The humanitarian initiative was taken on behalf of the organization’s guardian and Acting Chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman, by Taj Khan Naim, a candidate for president of Savar Municipal Chhatra Dal.
The iftar distribution program was held on Monday afternoon in the Pakiza area along the Dhaka–Aricha Highway under Savar Municipality. Iftar items were distributed among pedestrians, day laborers, rickshaw pullers, and other disadvantaged groups. Organizers said the initiative was aimed at promoting the spirit of compassion and solidarity during Ramadan.
Speaking at the event, Taj Khan Naim said the program was undertaken to stand beside the poor and helpless throughout the holy month. He added that similar iftar distribution drives would be carried out in phases at madrasas, orphanages, and underprivileged communities across Savar.
He further stated, “The core message of Ramadan is empathy, restraint, and humanity. Guided by these values, Chhatra Dal is committed to standing by the people. We will continue various social and humanitarian activities for the underprivileged in the future as well.”
Leaders and activists of Dhaka District North Chhatra Dal, including Faisal Ahmed Babu, were present at the event. They took part in organizing and distributing the iftar packages.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, saying such humanitarian efforts during Ramadan help strengthen social responsibility and community solidarity.
