He landed at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after 2 pm on Sunday (October 6). BNP Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has returned to the country after almost a year.

Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP's media cell, said that he arrived in Dhaka at 2:10 pm. From there, he paid his respects at the tomb of late BNP founder Ziaur Rahman in Sherebangla Nagar.

On May 23 last year, the High Court upheld the trial court's sentence against Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku in a corruption case. Before that he went abroad for treatment. Later he did not return to the country.

Meanwhile, a message from BNP's media cell informed that Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku is returning home after treatment. But the message did not mention which country he was coming from.

According to BNP sources, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku went to Singapore for treatment in early May last year. From there he moved to London.

When asked about this, Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP Chairperson's press wing, told Dhaka Post that he has returned to the country. But I don't know from which country he came.
