3 Bangladeshis detained at Satkhira border

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) has arrested three youths who were illegally crossing from Bangladesh to India through Vaikari border in Satkhira. They were arrested from Kalyani border area on Tuesday (September 24) midnight.

He said, on the basis of secret information, three Bangladeshi citizens have been detained on the eve of going to India from Kalyani Mandalpara on the border. During interrogation, the arrested said that they were trying to enter India through Indian smuggler Shudha Basak (45) for the purpose of employment in India. A laptop and 4 mobile phones were recovered after searching the bags of the arrested.
The arrested are Utsav Narayan Bahar (27), son of Uday Kanti Bahar, Shubo Bahar (24), son of Aurobindo Bachar, and Uttam Mandal (20), son of Ganesh Chandra Mandal, of Kamalkati village in Satkhira Asashuni upazila.
Among them is Utsav Narayan Bahar's father-in-law in Pachuria village of 24 Parganas of India. Currently his wife is staying in India.
BGB said that the process of handover to Satkhira Sadar Police Station is in process for taking further legal action against the arrested persons. Meanwhile, BBG members have recovered 199 bottles of Phencidil in a separate raid at Chanduriya border in Kalaroa of Satkhira.
