The chief advisor of the ruling interim government sent a letter inviting Volker Turk, the top executive of the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights, to Bangladesh. Muhammad Yunus. Along with that, he also requested an official investigation into all the incidents of violence that happened in Bangladesh from July 1 to August 15. Volker Turk welcomed the invitation. Although he did not give assurance about coming to Bangladesh, he assured the issue of formal investigation.

These facts have been confirmed in a statement given by the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on Friday.

Incidentally, a team from the Human Rights High Commission office came to Dhaka on the 22nd to review the various incidents of violence in the recent student-crowd movement in Bangladesh. The team was led by Rory Mongoven, Executive Head of the Asia-Pacific Branch Office of the High Commission for Human Rights.

At that time, an official of the Bangladesh branch office of the United Nations told Reuters that the main purpose of this team is not to investigate violence but to review and provide guidelines on how to investigate these incidents of violence.

An official of the Bangladesh branch office told Reuters in this regard, "Their main goal is not to investigate violence, but to review and provide guidelines on how these incidents of violence will be investigated."
