Prime Minister's Political Assistant (Secretary rank) Rashed Khan has commented that Jamaat-e-Islami was 'hiding' inside Awami League for the last 16 years. At the same time, he also commented that Awami League's crimes are 'minor' compared to Jamaat. Rashed Khan said these things in a post on his Facebook page on Friday (August 28).
In the post, Rashed Khan, citing Jamaat leader Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher's recent statement, claimed that Jamaat-NCP may join the movement with Awami League in the future. He said that after disturbing the country through the 'long march' from September to November, Jamaat may join the movement with Awami League from December.
Rashed Khan also said that considering the number of people killed and injured in the 2024 mass uprising, Awami League's crimes can be called 'minor' compared to Jamaat. He claims that the Awami League did not treat Jamaat badly for the last 16 years because Jamaat was 'hidden' within the Awami League. However, these statements are Rashed Khan's own political comments and allegations.
At the end of the post, Rashed Khan criticized the statement of Jamaat leader Abdullah Muhammad Taher. At the same time, he also commented that NCP leader Nahid Islam is enjoying the matter. These statements of his have created a new discussion in the political arena.
