More than four thousand dead birds in several circular rows. Madhyamani is a big bird. Seeing these pictures of dead birds is heartbreaking. Knowing the reason for the death of the birds makes the mind more burdened. They died after crashing into the glass walls of high-rise buildings and being crushed by glass windows.
Canadian photographer Patricia Homonillo named this picture 'When Worlds Collide' or 'When Worlds Collide'. This photo of the dead bird won The Bird Photographer of the Year 2024 award last month. Organizers said that more than 23,000 photos were submitted, out of which the winner of the 'Conservation' category, Patricia's photo was the best overall.

Patricia is a conservation photographer. Associated with a program called 'Fatal Light Awareness Program' of Canada. They rescue and care for injured birds in Toronto. Patricia was saying, "Every year in North America, more than one hundred million birds are killed by crashing into glass walls and windows of buildings. But the sad thing is, most of the birds we find dead. Then we collect these dead birds. I organize an exhibition at the end of the year to make people aware.
Patricia Homonillo took the award-winning photo from one such exhibition. He wants this image of thousands of dead birds to be etched in people's minds. Increase people's interest in using glass that will protect birds.
