A senior leader of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s party, the Muslim League-N (PML-N), has issued a stern warning against any aggressive or hostile move by India towards Bangladesh. He said that if India looks at Bangladesh with any ill intentions or tries to attack it, then Pakistan’s army and missiles are ready to respond.

According to a report by the Indian media outlet India Today, Pakistani leader Kamran Saeed Usmani made this statement in a video message. In the video, he said, “If anyone attacks the sovereignty of Bangladesh, if India dares to look at Bangladesh with ill intentions—then remember, the people of Pakistan, the Pakistani army and our missiles are not far away.”

Usmani alleged that India is trying to influence Bangladesh as part of implementing the concept of ‘Akhand Bharat’. He said that Pakistan will not accept any such political or ideological pressure on Bangladesh. In his words, such an initiative would pose a threat to regional stability.

Citing the past tensions between India and Pakistan, Usmani claimed that Pakistan has put India in difficult situations in the past and will not hesitate to do so in the future if necessary. He further alleged that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is harassing Bangladesh in various ways on the Bangladesh border and attempts are being made to disrupt the religious and political balance within the country.

At this time, he went a step further and proposed the formation of a military alliance between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Usmani said, “Bangladesh should enter into a military alliance with Pakistan. Pakistan should establish military bases in Bangladesh and Bangladesh in Pakistan.” According to him, if such an alliance is formed, there could be a major change in the balance of regional power in South Asia.

According to analysts, the statement of the Pakistani leader is not just a political comment; rather, it is a reflection of the growing geopolitical tension in South Asia. Such statements have given rise to new discussions, especially in the context of the strategic calculations of India-Pakistan-China-US, especially focusing on Bangladesh.
