Terrible fire in Savar's Shahibagh, Lion Khorshed stands by the victims

At least eight rooms of a house were burnt to ashes in a fire in Savar's Shahibagh area early this morning. Almost all the belongings of the residents, including the furniture inside the house, were destroyed in the fire. The affected families are in extreme distress due to this sudden incident.
According to local sources, the fire broke out suddenly on Thursday morning and spread to the surrounding houses within a short time. Although the locals were able to quickly come forward and bring the fire under control, extensive damage was done by then.
Upon receiving the news of the fire, Lion Khorshed Alam visited the scene. He spoke to the affected families and inquired about their overall situation. At that time, he provided financial assistance of Tk 10,000 to five families as part of humanitarian assistance.
Lion Khorshed Alam said that it is a social and moral responsibility to stand by the people affected by the disaster. Assuring that he will stand by the victims in this difficult time, he said that he will continue to provide assistance in the future as well.
He was accompanied by local BNP leader Yunus Khan, Chhatra Dal leader Taj Khan Naeem and other prominent figures of the area.
Meanwhile, locals have sought government and private assistance for the speedy rehabilitation of the affected families. They demand that effective initiatives be taken quickly to bring the affected people back to normal life.
