Bangladesh Bank transferred 85 officials together

Bangladesh Bank has transferred 22 Additional Director (Former Deputy General Manager) level officers who have been in charge of the same department for more than three years. At the same time, the offices of 63 other joint directors have been changed. Altogether 85 officers have been transferred together.
On Tuesday (August 20), the Human Resources Department-1 of the Central Bank transferred these officers to different departments and offices in two separate internal letters.
Bangladesh Bank officials said that the transfer policy has not been followed so far. Officers of different levels remain in the same department year after year. At the same time, some officers are performing duties in both departments. As a result, a kind of laxity has been created among the central bank officials.
But the new governor has decided to transfer those who have been in charge of the same department for more than three years. The rest will be transferred gradually.
It is known that Feroz Mahmood Islam of Financial Sector Support and Strategic Planning Department has been transferred to Human Resources Department-1. Rashida Khanom of Banking Regulations and Policy Department (Division-II) to Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department (Division-I), Kazi Shaibal Siddiqui of Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department (Division-I) to Banking Regulations and Policy Department (Division-II), Accounts And Budgeting Department (Division-1) Mohammad Abdul Hai has been transferred to Banking Inspection Division-2, Debt Management Department Anair Hossain has been transferred to Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department (Division-1).
Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) Syed Kamrul Islam, Jobaida Afroz and Md. Masud Rana was transferred to Debt Management Department, Sustainable Finance Department and Bangladesh Bank Training Academy respectively.
Apart from this, Mohammad Arfan Ali of Bank Inspection Division-2 was assigned to Account and Budgeting Department (Division-1), Common Services Department-1. Tariqul Islam to Bank Inspection Division-7, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy Amatur Rab and Tahmida Zaman to Financial Stability Department and Debt Management Department respectively, Human Resources Department-2 Hasne Ara Begum to Secretary Division, Payment Systems Department (Division-1) to Shah Zia- Ul-Haq in Financial Sector Support and Strategic Planning Department, Rabeya Khandkar in Sustainable Finance Department in Payment Systems Department (Division-I).

Kamruzzaman Kallol to Human Resources Department-2, Sheikh Ahmed Jami of Human Resources Department-2 to Human Resources Department-1, Anjuman Ara Begum of Human Resources Department-2 to Common Services Department-1, Mohammad Ullah to Bank Inspection Department-7 Sadarghat Office , Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department (Division-1) Syed Golam Shahazarul and Bank Inspection Division-7 Md. Raihanul Islam was transferred to the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit.
Apart from this, Rezia Khatun of Motijheel office was transferred to Deposit Insurance Department.
According to Central Bank sources, the transfer policy was reviewed and approved in the 212th meeting of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Bank on February 15, 2000. In the meeting, in case of inter-departmental transfer, the policy of keeping transfer for five years in inspection department and three years in other departments was approved.
