The National Assembly has passed the Finance Bill-2026. The passed bill has increased the tax-free income limit for individual taxpayers to 4 lakh taka. VAT on digital advertisements has been set at 5 percent instead of 15 percent. VAT has been exempted at certain levels in the fish supply and telecommunication sectors.

To facilitate domestic industries, duty and tax exemptions have been provided on the import of raw materials for shrimp, medicines, electrical wires, PVC, PET resin, refined copper and fire safety equipment. In addition, new provisions have been added regarding the distribution of dividends by listed companies, filing of audited financial statements and use of BIN of businesses.
