"Atif Aslam's Concert: The Struggle and Suffering of the Audience Amidst Fascination"

Published: 05:52 30 November 2024
When the singer took the stage on Friday (November 29), it was exactly 9 pm. Then he sang and danced in front of the audience for three hours. Pakistani musician Atif Aslam captivated Dhaka with a non-stop performance of almost three hours.
About 30,000 spectators were present at the Army Stadium in Dhaka that day to see Atif up close and listen to his songs. As the stadium was overcrowded, there was no space left to stand, and at the same time, traffic in the area around the stadium was also brought to a standstill for several hours.

Extreme chaos was seen at the entrance of the concert venue. Despite having tickets, many spectators could not enter the stadium. There was no specific parking arrangement or directions at the concert, which added to the problem.
Massive traffic jams were created on the Mohakhali-Banani road due to the concert. Traffic from Uttara to Banani came to a standstill. Passengers going to the airport in particular suffered from long waits.

Law enforcement had to resort to lathicharge to control the excessive crowd. Some of the spectators were forced to try to climb over the wall.
Even spectators with tickets worth 10,000 taka could not enjoy the event sitting in the front row. Many complained that the ticket price was disproportionate for such an event.
Angry spectators took to social media to express their anger against the mismanagement of the organizers. The organizers admitted their mistakes and promised to organize better events in the future. This experience can be a lesson for the organizers.
This incident will definitely be memorable for Atif Aslam's fans, but it is important that such events in the future be more successful and audience-friendly.
