Faisal Karim Masud, one of the accused in the Hadi murder case, the spokesperson of Inqilab Manch, Sharif Osman, recently gave a video message, which has been widely circulated on social media. In the video, he highlights his position and claims regarding the murder, but the public is curious about the authenticity of this claim.
Digital investigative media The Descent has verified the video and confirmed that it was not created by artificial intelligence (AI). Faisal's appearance, facial expressions and other features in the video completely match his real identity. The authenticity of the video has been confirmed by analyzing the background noise of the video and using four reliable AI verification tools.
In the video, Faisal claims that he is currently in Dubai. However, The Descent said that it is not possible to confirm his geographical location based on the video alone. Faisal did not present any supporting information such as location data or passport seals.
In the video, Faisal also claimed that he was not on the motorcycle used to kill Hadi. However, The Descent has identified this claim as false. According to police and investigation sources, Faisal Karim was sitting on the back of the motorcycle and opened fire during the killing, while his associate Alamgir Sheikh was in the driver's seat.
Faisal also alleged that Osman Hadi took an advance of Tk 5 lakh in exchange for getting him a job at the ministry. However, the investigation did not find any truth to this claim. There were no allegations of lobbying against Hadi when he was alive.
It is worth noting that Sharif Osman Hadi was attacked on Box Culvert Road under Paltan Police Station on December 12. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College and later to Evercare Hospital in serious condition. He was sent to Singapore for treatment on December 15 and died on the night of December 18. The DMP said 18 days after the murder, the accused are believed to have entered the Indian state of Meghalaya. Six people have given confessional statements in the incident and four have given evidence under Section 164.
