Panchgarh Sadar Upazila BNP President Abu Dawood and Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman

After a long wait, the triennial conference and leadership election of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila BNP was held. The results of the election for the posts of President and General Secretary were announced in the second session held at the Panchagarh Government Auditorium on Saturday (May 3) night. District BNP Member Secretary Farhad Hossain Azad announced the results.
Abu Dawood Pradhan was elected as the president by defeating his rival Anwar Hossain by getting 436 votes. Mahfuzur Rahman Babu won the post of General Secretary by getting 433 votes. Dukhammara Union BNP President and former UP Chairman Aurangzeb was elected as the organizing secretary by getting 390 votes.
Earlier, the conference was inaugurated by hoisting the party and national flags at 11:30 am. After the first session, 710 councilors from ten unions of Sadar Upazila entered the auditorium at around 3:30 pm and voting was held until the evening.
After the voting, the counting of votes began under the leadership of District BNP convener Jaherul Islam Kachchu and in the presence of two organizing secretaries of the central BNP. The results were announced at around 10:30 pm.
It is worth noting that this conference was organized after the term of the convening committee formed in 2020 ended. In this, the current convener Anwar Hossain and the joint convener of the district BNP and former two-time UP chairman Abu Daud Pradhan contested for the post of president. The current member secretary Sekender Ali and former Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal leader Mahfuzur Rahman Babu contested for the post of general secretary. Aurangzeb and Manik contested for the post of organizing secretary.
Through this conference, a new leadership of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila BNP was formed, which is expected to further accelerate the party's organizational activities in the coming days.
