Ferdousi Ahmed Mishti, a Member of Parliament (MP) for a reserved women's seat, has arrived at the National Parliament to submit her resignation following the Prime Minister's directive regarding the vandalism at a maternal and child health center in Mirpur, Dhaka. She entered the parliament premises around 1:40 PM on Thursday.

An incident involving an attack, vandalism, and looting occurred last Thursday at the Radda MCH-FP Center in Mirpur. Following this event, the government initiated a process to take strict action. The Prime Minister's press wing confirmed that the Prime Minister had instructed the controversial MP to resign.

Previously, while serving as a ward councilor, Mishti faced allegations of various irregularities, including extortion, terrorism, and land grabbing. This decision was taken because her past political activities and the recent incident of violence had tarnished the party's image. Party sources indicate that, in addition to stepping down as an MP, she may also resign from her primary membership of the BNP.
