Import and export will be closed at Benapole port for 4 days

From Tuesday October 21 to Thursday October 23, Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate India's Petrapole Passenger Terminal (at Haridaspur) opposite Benapole Land Port for three days. Therefore, through these two ports, import and export will be closed for a total of four days on Friday, October 24, a weekend of three days in India and Bangladesh.
Karthik Chakraborty, general secretary of the Petrapol Clearing Agent Staff Welfare Association of India, said that Indian Union Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to inaugurate Asia's largest land port Petrapol (Haridaspur) passenger terminal on the India-Bangladesh international border on Thursday.
He is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of several programs and facilities on this day. It has been decided to stop import and export in the interest of its overall security.
India's C&F businessmen said that on the occasion of Amit Shah's arrival, security measures have been strengthened in the entire Petrapol border area. BSF and police forces have been kept on standby. Also has Dog Squad. Entry inside the port is not allowed without identity card.
Deputy Director (Traffic) of Benapole Land Port Rashedul Sajib Nazir said that Kamlesh Shahni, manager of the Port Authority of Opar, has written a letter that the import and export between the two countries will be closed through the Benapole-Petrapole port from Tuesday to Thursday.
President of Benapole C&F Staff Association Mujibur Rahman said, "Import-export has been stopped to ensure maximum security at the border around the program of the Home Minister of India. Later, since Friday is a weekend, import-export will continue at full speed from Saturday.”
Omar Farooq, OC-2 of Benapole International Checkpost Immigration, said, "Even if the import and export is stopped, I don't know whether the passenger movement through the international checkpost will be normal or not." Therefore, it can be assumed that passenger traffic will be normal. Indian immigration has not told us anything about the suspension of passenger movement.
