Fishery and livestock advisor Farida Akhtar said that middlemen are a big problem due to the increase in the price of products including eggs. The big egg production companies of the country can supply only 20 to 25 percent of the demand. Marginal farmers have to supply the rest.
He said, producers can directly supply eggs to consumers through cooperatives. In this case, the producer-dealer will benefit and the consumers will be able to buy eggs at an affordable price. He said these things in the speech of the chief guest in the meeting with fishermen and marginal farmers of Pabna district in the conference room of Pabna District Commissioner's office on Saturday (October 19) at noon.
Pabna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mofizul Islam also spoke in the meeting, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Syed Mahmud Belal Haider.
Fishermen and farmers of different upazilas of Pabna were present at this time.
