After the announcement of the result last Tuesday (October 15), the family of the deceased Faisal got to know the result that evening.
Faisal is the son of Safiul Islam alias Reza Mia of Kachisair village in Debidwar upazila of Comilla. He attended the HSC examination from SM Mozammel Haque Technical School and College, Dakshinkhan area of the capital. He also passed SSC from the same institution. In addition to studies, Shyamoli used to work as a supervisor in a bus in Dhaka to manage the family. Lived in a rented house in Abdullahpur area of the capital.
On Thursday (October 17) at noon Faisal's mother Hajera Begum said these things to the deceased on her mobile phone.
He said, my son was a good student. Couldn't see even after passing Inter. How to deal with this grief. My chest is bursting.
According to family sources, on the afternoon of July 19, Faisal left home to go to the Shyamoli Paribahan counter in Abdullahpur of the capital during the student movement. When the family members called his mobile number later that evening, it was switched off. After searching in various places, a general diary (GD) was made at Dakshinkhan police station on July 28. 12 days passed like this. He was not found even after searching various hospitals. Later on the afternoon of August 1, when Anjuman Mufidul Islam inquired, the workers there showed the relatives the pictures of the dead bodies buried as heirless. Later, the relatives saw the picture of Faisal's dead body there.
Anjuman workers told the family members that at least 15 bodies were buried together. Among them was Faisal.
Faisal's third sister Rozina Akhtar said, "Our six sisters are married." Faisal was most loved. My beloved brother had to die like this. My father is very sick, hard of hearing. Hearing that Faisal has passed, he is shedding tears and not talking to anyone. Later we came to know that my brother was shot dead by the police.
Debidwar Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Sahida Akhtar said that the families of those who died in Debidwar Upazila have been supported. Faisal's family has also been helped. Now I know that he has passed the HSC exam. I will meet his family again and try to cooperate.
