1 person arrested with 24 kg ganja and 980 pieces of yaba in Kurigram

In a separate operation in Kurigram, police arrested 1 drug dealer with 24 kg ganja and 980 pieces of yaba.

A team of Kurigram's Nageshwari police station was manning a check post at Mofizmor area of Santoshpur union of the upazila on Wednesday (October 9) morning when the driver of the trolley ran away after giving a signal to stop a suspect trolley. Later, the police searched the trolley and recovered a total of 24 kg of ganja in 06 bags of different shapes in the back body and seized 1 trolley used for transporting drugs.
On the other hand, he was arrested with 980 pieces of Yaba from the house of Md. Abdul Mannan Mondal (48) from Sukherbati Karipara area of Char Shaulmari Union of Upazila in the operation of Roumari Police Station.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Kurigram District Police AKM Ohidunnabi said that the police arrested 1 person with 24 kg of ganja in Nageshwari and 980 pieces of yaba in Roumari. Two separate cases have been filed under the Narcotics Control Act. The accused has been sent to jail by the court.
