Among them, last Thursday (September 26) 54 tons 460 kg in 20 trucks, Saturday 45 metric tons 200 kg in 15 trucks, Sunday 19 metric tons in six trucks, Monday 89 metric tons in 30 trucks, Tuesday 69 metric tons 640 kg in 23 trucks, Thursday 92 in 30 trucks. metric tons and 42 metric tons of hilsa in 13 trucks were exported to India till 6:30 pm on Saturday (October 5). Hilsa export is 10 dollars per kg, which is 1 thousand 180 Bangladeshi taka.
Delwar Hossain, a buyer who came to buy fish in Benapole market, said, "One kilogram of hilsa is being sold at Tk 1,800 in Benapole fish market on Sunday. The fish of the same size is being exported to India at a price of Rs 600. So why do I have to buy the fish of our country at a higher price?
Mahbubur Rahman, official of fisheries inspection and quality control center of Benapole land port of the Department of Fisheries, said, "The circular of hilsa export is a few years old. But now the price can be adjusted in line with the domestic market price of hilsa.
Rashedul Sajib Nazir, deputy director of Benapole land port, said, '42 metric tons of hilsa have been exported in 13 trucks till Saturday evening. With this, the export of hilsa to India in one week is 411 metric tons 300 kg.
Incidentally, on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja, the Ministry of Commerce had first decided to allow the export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa to India. Finally allowed to export 2 thousand 420 tons of hilsa. This permission has been given to 49 institutions. Among them, 48 companies will export 50 tons to 2,400 tons and one company will export 20 tons of hilsa.
